Long Term Care Reform
The state of Wisconsin is changing the way long term care services are provided. Two 9 county groups in our area have formed coalitions to work on a regional plan to provide long term care services to people with disabilities and the elderly. In response to the states request to find a more cost effective way to provide long term care services, these 2 coalitions put in proposals to provide a managed care program that would serve their nine county areas. Counties in NW WI wanted to maintain control of the services they offered rather than have an outside organization who doesn’t understand the needs in NW WI.
